Fire Detection

A System of sensors and associated interconnected equipment which detects the equipment which detects the presence of fire and provides a warning signal.

Sprinkler

A fire sprinkler system is an active fire protection method, consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and flow rate to a water distribution piping system, onto which fire sprinklers are connected.

Sprinkler Valve System

A sprinkler alarm valve prevents a reverse flow of water from the installation into the fire-pump room, but in case a fire sprinkler is activated (opened) due to fire, the sprinkler alarm valve will open and permit water flow into the system.

Double Headed Hydrant

A double headed hydrant post is fitted with two separate single hydrant valves, allowing two hoses to be connected from the same hydrant post.

Hydrant System

A fire hydrant is a visible fixture placed inside or outside a building, parking area, industrial area, mine, roadside, etc. that is connected to the municipal or private water service network. Fire hydrants are designed to instantly provide the water required by firefighters to extinguish a fire.

Fire Extinguisher

A fire extinguisher is a portable or movable apparatus used to put out a small fire by directing onto it a substance that cools the burning material, deprives the flame of oxygen, or interferes with the chemical reactions occurring in the flame.

Fire Hose Reels

Fire hose reels are located to provide a reasonably accessible and controlled supply of water to combat a potential fire risk. They are ideal for large high-risk environments such as schools, hotels, factories, etc.

Safety Equipment

Fire fighting equipment is a range of tools and appliances that are designed to extinguish fires. When used correctly, this equipment will protect the operator from harm.

Safety Signs

The Fire Notice Safety Sign is used to indicate all that to do in the event of a fire and what procedures to follow after the fire.

Fire Foam Trolleys

AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foams) Foam Fire Extinguishers are suitable to fight burning solids such as wood as well as liquid fires such as burning petrol. The foam has the ability to creep over the burning liquid or to soak into burning materials such as settees.

CCTV Surveillance

CCTV (closed-circuit television) is a TV system in which signals are not publicly distributed but are monitored, primarily for surveillance and security purposes. CCTV relies on the strategic placement of cameras and private observation of the camera’s input on monitors.

CCTV Warning Signs

CCTV warning signs indicate and warn of the presence of closed-circuit television systems or cameras.

Managing fire safety does not end with the fire risk assessment and while the main focus of a fire prevention strategy is to prevent fire, one needs to be ready should a fire accidentally break out.
